찜통더위가 계속되는 여름휴가의 절정기입니다만,

어제부터 비가 내려 더위가 좀 가셨나했더니 후텁지근하긴 매한가지로군요.

 

이맘 때 쯤이면 생각나는 노래입니다.

1958년 작 영화로 작곡가 <조지거쉰>의 오페라를 영화화한 작품의 주제곡.

 

본시 이곡은 오페라 <포기와베스, Porgy and Bess>의 1막에서

아기를 달래는 자장가로 나오는 곡이라는데 많은 이들이 앞다투어 불렀지요.

 

그 중 작곡자의 의도와 가장 가깝다는 평을 받고 있다는 <마할리아잭슨>의 곡과

<루이암스트롱>이 <엘라 핏저럴드>와 입을 맞춘 곡을 들어보십시다.
