저녁놀 서산에 끼어 황혼이 찾아와도 / 청천에 빛나는 뭇별 이 밤도 명랑하다

밤 깊어 나의 마음 고요히 잠들어도 / 희망찬 아침 햇빛 창문을 열어주리

■ Phil Coulter

1942.2.19 북아일랜드(Derry-Northern Ireland) 태생의 작곡가이자 피아니스트.(현68세)

타고난 음악성으로 어릴 때부터 피아노와 함께 자라나 Belfast's Queens University에 장학생으로 입학.

(작곡전공)

재학시절 Sandie Shaw에게 작곡해준 Puppet on A String이 유로비젼송 콘테스트에서 우승했고,

클리프 리처드의 Congratulations도 그의 작품이라 함.

남에게 수많은 작품들을 주다 본인의 데뷔는 1984년에야 비로서 이루어졌다고 하며,

Mr. Tranquility(고요,평온한)라는 닉네임으로 늘 상처받은 북아일랜드의 동포들에게 평온한 안식처를 제공하는

음악으로 동족상잔의 비극을 어루만져왔다고...
